Jaiquan missed 20 percent of the school year, had 40 office referrals and 21 days of suspension in fourth grade. Now we’re celebrating his success: he ended the year scoring 5s on his math and science End of Grade Exams! As his mom put it, “Mrs. Brown (Jaiquan’s CIS Student Support Specialist) stepped in as a school mom, friend, mentor, buddy, encourager, motivator, rewarder, well-wisher, believer & supporter, all for Jaiquan. Afterward, he made great grades and the Honor Roll his 5th grade year.
