Communities In Schools of North Carolina (CISNC) announced a $25,000 grant today from GlaxoSmithKline to build awareness of CISNC’s leadership in dropout prevention.
GlaxoSmithKline’s support will help CISNC engage with the North Carolina community through social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr) and increase media coverage of its successes. This will allow CISNC to teach its stakeholders and others about the impact that Communities In Schools has on American public education and will help to expand the public’s knowledge of the organization’s statewide impact.
“We are delighted that our grant will help amplify the important work that CISNC does every day to keep students in school,” says Mary Linda Andrews, Director of Community Partnerships.
“More than 143,000 students in North Carolina receive tangible benefits from the investment that our corporate partners provide to support the work of CISNC,” said CISNC President and CEO Linda Harrill. “Our network spans all across North Carolina, and students, parents, schools and communities are impacted by our work. Investments such as this grant from GlaxoSmithKline enable us to continue to grow and serve more and more students.”
