Communities In Schools of North Carolina Hosts Inaugural Mentoring Summit

Superintendents, teachers, Communities In Schools executive directors, guidance counselors, program directors and mentors flocked to Raleigh’s McKimmon Center yesterday for the 2011 North Carolina Mentoring Summit. Hosted by Communities In Schools of North Carolina (CISNC), this all-day event focused on engaging the community in mentoring opportunities while also strengthening mentoring programs across the state. In partnership with the N.C. Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service and United Way of North Carolina, this statewide event educated more than 250 participants, including guests from eight other states, CIS national office staff, AmeriCorps members and others.
