CISNC Awards $357,068 in Service Learning Grants to 26 NC Counties

Communities In Schools of North Carolina announces that 28 recipients statewide have been awarded a total of the 2010-2011 Learn and Serve America grant, totaling $357,068. Research has shown that high quality service learning opportunities, such as the Learn and Serve American program, improve academic achievement and school attendance, and connect student to their communities.
