Communities In Schools is committed to providing students with as many opportunities to prepare them for a bright future in whichever path they choose. Charting for Success is a CIS designed curriculum available to students at Performance Learning Centers, and expanding to public high school and provides career-awareness and career-exploration activities. Its goals include increasing the number of high school graduates ready for college and post-secondary success and helping students transition to post-secondary education by teaching parents and students about the valuable link between high school and college success, providing information on college requirements and the preparation process, and exploring the financial aid options that make college more affordable. This includes college tours, career mentoring with corporate partners, internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing and more.
